with Pamela Wood
Saturday, September 27, 2008, 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
Ellen Driscoll Playhouse

This workshop will provide opportunities to learn and practice singing games and African-American folk literature, sight-sing choral music by African Americans, and consider the art song repertoire of African-American composers. Particular attention will be given to traditional and politically correct performance practice. Come prepared to "put your hands on your hips and let your backbone slip"!

In demand as a clinician in the areas of voice, solfege, and folk song research, Ms. Wood has gained recognition among music educators and classroom teachers nationwide. She serves as a member of the Boards of the Kodály Center of America and is on the Faculty of the Kodály Music Institute at the New England Conservatory. .
