- Seeking an accompanist for Middle School Choir in Orinda. The position would be Mondays from 9:30-:10:10 and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:40-10:25. There would be no rehearsal on district holidays. There would be approximately 4 evening or weekend performances outside of these hours. For the last 15 years, the Sacramento Children’s Chorus (SCC) has been providing students with a program of unparalleled excellence in the art of choral singing through a full course of choral/vocal instruction and performances. We seek a Choir Director responsible for conducting regular rehearsals September through June. The Choir Director works closely with the Artistic Director. This is a part time position, twenty (20) hours per week. - St. John is seeking a highly trained and enthusiastic Director of Liturgical Music. Candidate must have excellent keyboard and conducting skills, ministry leadership skills and a good understanding of Catholic liturgy. Responsibilities include organizing the music ministry, hymn planning, rehearsing with choirs and musicians, training cantors, consultant and resource for the Hispanic music ministry and attending monthly staff and liturgy meetings. Candidate must also be available to lead the assembly at weekend liturgies, holy days of obligation, and provide for sacraments and services as needed (weddings, funerals, communal reconciliation, etc.) Competitive salary is in accordance with Diocese of Oakland guidelines with additional stipends for weddings and funerals. This position offers a flexible schedule, health insurance and a generous benefits package. Job Classification is an M-5, exempt and position opens immediately. They have had music classes based on the Orff Schulwerk approach for the last 9 years and need a new teacher. Prefer an enthusiastic, playful, process-oriented teacher with some Orff training. School has a full instrumentarium, a collection of small percussion instruments, a piano and a classroom (shared with the art teacher). Interest in leading the after-school chorus is a plus.
